"I can tell you as I digress with age, I'm sure glad I have this 'baby' - I believe your website called what I have is that “turtle neck syndrome”. It could have been worse without the PostureJac.
When I first got this, my trigger point muscles were an issue but now it's all neck - the sternocleidomastoid muscles. What feels so good with this is waking up (sleeping seems to be my worst enemy!) and putting on the PostureJac and just pressing down on the handles then stretching my neck from side to side It's sooooo awesome! It really feels good on my shoulder/blades too. I'm not sure what would be happening to me in time if I hadn't started doing this. Perhaps I've developed these tightened muscles that seize up in the night, but this seems to stretch the muscles back into place.
I tend to carry my shoulders high; like it's a nervous habit. Perhaps I've been doing it for a long time (or all my life) and time is producing the results because I do it so automatically. That seems to make the muscles tight and short. I have to catch myself and concentrate on lowering my shoulders and keeping them in that position! Wearing this 'jac' with those ever present handles, sure helps to remind me! They are the solution!
I am writing testimonial because perhaps there are others with the same habit and don't realize it unless someone else talks about it and the light goes off and they say "Hey, I do that too!", or "maybe that's my problem!". Perhaps these are born tendencies. I know I go into this 'stance' when I'm nervous or uptight - like it's a visible body language reaction. You might imagine it when you're in a job interview or something, only for me 'my job interview' is daily and under much less stressful circumstances! I have to relax!
When I watched the videos I was SO GLAD that I was not the only one with this problem - and the PostureJac sure made sense to compensate for my posture or A-type personality or whatever is the cause of these tight muscles!
All these others who have tried mine out, but don't pursue it ... it just makes me wonder that sometime down the road in their life, will they be sorry they didn't listen to their body, waited too long and then it's too late! I really don't know where I'd be right now had I not BEGUN these compensating exercises :) (... and that's the honest truth:)"
Shannon, St. Thomas
"My job requires me to sit at a desk with a lot of computer work. I was experiencing frequent shoulder pain, neck pain and headaches. After exercising with the PostureJac for only 3 weeks the pain was gone and hasn't returned. I found the MyoPressers were particularly helpful to relieve the knots in my shoulders and relax my muscles. I would highly recommend the PostureJac"
Paul Stringer, Toronto
"World travel is one of my passions, and PostureJac has been with me from Shanghai to Moscow. PostureJac gently but significantly eases the lower back discomfort of osteoarthritis. This travel companion straightens my spine and reduces compression stress as I wander and wonder. It's been said that your body pays a price not for the miles you travel, but from the roads you've traveled on. PostureJac surely smoothes the bumps for me."
Bill Siren, San Diego, Captain, USN (Ret.)
"I’ve been using the PostureJac for a few weeks now and in such a short amount of time, I’ve already noticed my posture has improved. I’ve also been using the MyoPressers along with the PostureJac, which has really helped break up any knots in my back. I’ve finally been able to get a greater range of motion back from my neck/back/shoulder muscles for the first time in many years. I’m so thankful for the PostureJac."
Bruce Koskoff, New York
"As a senior, with advancing Osteoporosis, wearing the PostureJac gave me immediate comfort. I am able to stay upright longer, with more stability and less neck, back and ribcage pain. It improves my breathing. At night I don’t need an Advil and I sleep better. It enables me to increase my range of activities and walk without pain, even holding one handle."
Irene Hayhoe, Ontario
"As a janitor, my job involves heavy lifting. I was living with constant pain in my lower back and down into my legs. I received immediate relief so I wore it constantly 7 days a week for about 8 months. It was comforting to pull down on the handles occasionally to stretch and use the MyoPressers to massage my sore shoulders. I still use if for exercise and my back is definitely stronger because I do. "
Fred Bain,Ontario
"I find mine to be extremely helpful to my lower back. I wear it around with me and every time my back starts to act up I just do the exercise for a few minutes. Works great! Thanks again."
Alan De Long, New York
"I can definitely sense the enhanced effectiveness of the stretches I use to loosen my neck. My PT has most recently been focusing on tightness/poor alignment in my neck which has resulted in the impingement in my shoulders. In fact, when I stretch and exercise with the PostureJac (in particular the Head Turner and Jac Retreat) I can feel the stretch into my infraspinatus muscle, which has been the site of my chronic shoulder impingement injury. "
Saam Fouladgar, Maryland
"The PostureJac gave me immediate relief from the pain shooting down my leg. It provides comfort and support and eases the ache in my back. My husband and I (in our late 70's) frequently wear our PostureJacs throughout the day. It lifts me into a comfortable position and reduces my fatigue. Overall, it really is making a difference. I have recommended it to many people, including my physiotherapist."
Eugenia Greig, Toronto
"I broke several ribs, and sustained soft tissue injury from a car accident. I also have some sliding disks from an accident when I was younger. As a result I have suffered from an intercostal block in my rib area and a paralyzed sternum causing acute pain - particularly in a rounded shoulders position.
The PostureJac is the only thing that helps the pain in my neck and thoracic area. Using it gives me great comfort and stability. I have reduced my pain medication from 6 times day down to one or two. I am planning a trip to Europe and this will be a great comfort and support as I travel. When I experience discomfort at a party, I slip away and use it to do some stretching and then return. It really reduces the discomfort."
Linnie Konecnik, New York
"I recently fell off a ladder and broke two ribs. Then a week later I re-injured them while out of town. The sharp pain from any movement reminded me that I needed my PostureJac. When I got home I immediately put it on and felt great relief. It was the only thing that allowed me to move and bend without pain. I even wore it to bed the first night."
Alan Hayhoe, Toronto
"I like the PostureJac a lot. I wear it when I walk the hallways here and also do some of the exercises. My lower back problem isn't nearly as noticeable these days, so I guess it's helping that as well. Many folks 'admire' it."
Joyce, Brampton
"Let me just say that the PostureJac has been a great device for me and I believe it has significantly improved my posture since I began using it regularly. It's a fantastic device! "
Christopher, New York
"You taught me about the importance of good posture and then you showed me how to use the PostureJac. Recently the yoga teacher for our competitive swim group said I had the most improved posture in the class."
Mitch MacClean, National level competitive swimmer, Toronto
